Lucas and Kim are a super fun couple that I am honored to know and photograph their wedding. Kathy and I photographed their engagement session in Redstone Colorado which is right outside Aspen in one of the most scenic valleys in Colorado. They were up for anything; I had them jump rock to rock out in the middle of the crystal river to get the shot I had envisioned. The efforts were worth it. I knew after 10 minutes into the engagement session that I was going to have the time of my life at their wedding. I couldn’t have been any closer to the truth.

We started the day off at the The Chapel at Red Rocks outside of Morrison, Colorado. They had a beautiful ceremony; the clouds swirling around enhanced the colors of Red Rocks. A little thunder and threat of rain turned out to be a false alarm. We spent two hours between the ceremony and reception making images among the rocks and then in downtown Denver. Once in Lodo we ran wild in the streets after the whole wedding party had a shot at McCormick’s bar. We went from street corners to underground stairs and allies and then into Union Station. We ended up back at the bar and grabbed the wedding party to hop in the hummer bound for the reception at the Denver Marriot West. The Reception was great. They had an amazing DJ who brought disguises for the guests to dance in. It was a blast watching Lucas’s mother dance in a purple pimp hat.

This being the second wedding of the season Kathy and I are both really pleased and excited for all the weddings this year. We are off to a blazing start.
