Mike and Brandy love to ski, they also love the Colorado mountains. They planed a ski wedding on the last week that the Breckenridge Ski Resort was open. Little did they know that mid April this year would feel like a normal May. Colorado has had a VERY dry and warm winter and spring. Although one advantage is the unusually warm and sunny weather. The week before the wedding they skied and enjoyed friends and family in the mountains. Mike hoped for snow on his wedding day and that is just what he got. The day started warm and sunny then mid-day a snow storm moved in. It was just nice puffy spring snow, nothing to harm the plans for an outdoor ceremony at the Sevens but just enough to add to the mountain feel. It was perfect, then the warm reception went into the night as the snow piled up outside. A great day to be married!

I had a great first wedding of 2012. We started with some snowshoeing…….Really we started the day snowshoeing. Let me explain, for the first two hours of Adam & lynne’s wedding photography coverage we photographed them on top of a mountain in two foot deep snow. I used snowshoes to create a trail that Lynne could use to access the locations we were photographing in. With all the fresh snow the Evergreen area has recently received this made for a beautiful setting for the images.
From the mountain we went on to Rockland Community Church for a wonderful wedding ceremony then on to Hiwan Country Club for the warm and fun reception. Enjoy the images below and leave a comment to let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

I had a great time photographing the Andringa family at Red Rocks just outside Morrison, Colorado. Winter can be one of the most dramatic times to the year to photograph, especially with the large red sandstone rock formations contrasting with the snow. Their storybook will feature many of the images from this session, It can be viewed below.

Here is the Andringa family’s storybook.
