Being raised in Oklahoma and now living in Colorado for the last 15 years it is a real treat to return there once or twice a year to photograph. I was so happy to have the privilege to photograph Josh and Evaren’s wedding at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Downtown Oklahoma City. St. Paul’s has just finished renovating their courtyard under the direction of Architect Hans E. Butzer, and it is a wonderful space to hold an outdoor wedding.
Working with Josh & Evaren was a joy. They are both so easy going and relaxed, This just added to the great atmosphere of the outdoor wedding and reception at The Greens Country Club. After a short ride in golf cart to a beautiful location, we photographed on the golf course next to a lake with a gushing fountain. Guests spent the evening on the spacious deck enjoying the spring weather in between favorite songs on the dance floor inside. What a treat to photograph a beautiful spring wedding in my hometown!

It is always great to go back to my home town of Oklahoma City to see family, friends and shoot a fun wedding. This trip was just that. It was Alan and Robin’s wedding that I had the pleasure of photographing. Alan and I met on a climbing trip together at Joshua Tree National Park in California. It was a great trip and I had fun photographing him climbing there as well. I was shooting film then so that tells you how long ago that was….

It was the perfect day, with clouds but no rain. This is not what brides typically hope for but it is a photographers hall pass to create images in places that would normally be off limits during the harsh mid day sun. The wedding was held at the beautiful Will Rogers Park in the Rose Garden. The roses were in an early full bloom from the warm spring making the perfect setting for this outdoor wedding.

To get the sweet fruit sometime you have to climb a tree. A behind the scenes look at the lengths I go to get a shot.

This is the fruit of my tree climbing!
