Since the birth of our daughter in 2004, we have enjoyed documenting all of the different aspects of her short and adventurous life. From her brand new tiny hands and feet, to her first smile to her ever-growing adventurous spirit, we have photographed and preserved these precious and fleeting moments. We often talk about how incredible it is to have such a thorough photographic record of her that she can look back at and learn about her early years. Because we cherish those images of our daughter and want to share that opportunity with others, Kathy has been planning to launch a maternity and baby division of Holcombe Photography in the fall of 2009 (when our daughter begins kindergarten) that caters to capturing that precious time when a new little person enters the world, and create a beautiful heirloom book with the images. The idea is a five session collection of images that span from pregnancy through the first year.
We first met Kim and Lucas when photographed their wedding in May of 2006 and absolutely LOVED spending time photographing them. We just couldn’t get enough of their energy and enthusiasm and still think their images are some of our best work. Needless to say, we were thrilled to learn that they were expecting their first child this summer and wanted us to document their baby’s first year. We photographed Kim and Lucas in Kim’s seventh month of her pregnancy and she looked spectacular! Thank you Kim for allowing me to explore this new endeavor of photography with you! Here are a few of my favorite images from that session. We are creating a book of the Byer’s family over the next year, so stay tuned to meet baby Byers who we are expecting any day.
