This image is in my top 10 of 2009. We made this image on the most of unlikely days. We drove throughout zero visibility all the way up to 11,000 ft. on the flank of Mount Evans. While I set up my lights and camera I could still not see much further than 10-20 feet in any direction. Then the thick cloud that we had been encased in blew past revealing a scene of clouds above and below with mountain top islands poking up through the sea of clouds. Perseverance is often rewarded as this was one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever experienced.
