We have just returned from photographing Mark and Shannon’s wedding at Red Cliffs Lodge near Moab, Utah. What an amazing venue for a desert wedding with all the bells and whistles! I still have lots of work ahead to get this out in the world. But in the meantime I created this movie made of every image taken at Mark & Shannon’s wedding compressed into a 1.5 minute movie. Enjoy and let me know if you like it!

A summer wouldn’t be complete without photographing weddings in Summit County. Breckenridge is full of amazing wedding venues but Ten Mile Station might be one of the best gems. It sits mid mountain with grandiose views in nearly every direction. This is a photographers dream and my reality on Matt & Ann’s wedding day! Please take a moment to view the movie below that tells the story of Matt & Ann’s wedding day. If you like what you see please tell us using the comment feature below.

Ryan & Tracy: A Denver Wedding at Regis & The Oxford Hotel

It was a really fun day!

Tracy and Ryan are one of those couples that just glow with energy on their wedding day. They are full of love, excitement and emotion. This is the perfect recipe to create powerful images. Photographing in Lodo Denver is always easy with so many great environments. We used busy streets and dingy alleys and I laughed with nearly every click from how easy it was to make Tracy and Ryan look amazing. At the end of the day I walked away tired but very happy that I had the honor of being their photographer on this special day.

Melissa & Stan: Red Rocks Wedding Photography

It was really nice to photograph a wedding at The Chapel at Red Rocks again. Red Rocks has a energy about it that really makes for a great location to hold a wedding. The Chapel at Red Rocks has the best views of this world famous Colorado landmark. It was a hot summer day but Melissa and Stan were ready to go. Melissa worked to keep cool while we created dramatic images up in the park under the towering rocks. The wedding ceremony was perfect and I felt like I was coming home photographing in the chapel. I have probably captured more weddings here that any other one venue. After the wedding we were off to Briarwood Inn in Golden, CO for an outdoor reception in there newly landscaped courtyard. The staff at Briarwood Inn was outstanding, They took care of every detail with 5 star service. We also had the pleasure of working with Mandy and the crew at Lupher Arts who did the motion picture of the wedding day. I haven’t seen the finished movie yet but they were true pros and we worked well together. I am looking forward to seeing the final movie! If you are looking for a truly amazing live band for an event or wedding check out  “Tripping Griswolds”. They really put on an amazing show! The wedding cake from Azucar Bakery was simply beautiful and YUMMY! Please take a moment and play the movie below of Melissa & Stan’s Wedding Day storybook to get the feel of what an amazing day we had. I wish Melissa and Stan all the best and look forward to getting to know them as a married couple.

Jarred & Hilary; A Denver Wedding at The Oxford Hotel

Summer weddings in Lodo Denver offer a unique photographic experience. I really love working in the alleys and using the old architecture to create powerful images. Jarred and Hillary were looking forward to a downtown wedding day and I had loads of ideas for their wedding photography, but I had one personal goal for the day. I have photographed this old fire escape near The Oxford Hotel a million times (well maybe just 35+ times). But every time I shoot there, I try to create unique images that I haven’t ever seen or created myself before. This old fire-escape seems to have been shot by every professional photographer that works downtown and for good reason: it is really neat! But, I see the same images of it over and over…. So my goal is to try to find a unique way to photograph the over photographed. I’ve shot this fire-escape from every angle and using a wide variety of lighting to give different looks. Today was the day for the last conceivable angle, I was going to shoot from the roof of a nearby building (not the parking garage, I did that 3 years ago). Gaining access without being arrested was the tricky part but once I got the green light we were off. This angle made spread 10 in the Wedding Day Story Book and I was really happy with how it worked out. It took Kathy and my assistant Georgia to hold my strobe in a 4 foot soft box a story above the couple to give them the pop I was after for beautiful light.

The Oxford Hotel is such a great venue for a downtown wedding. They offer everything you could want and photographically there is a lot of great places to shoot within walking distance of the hotel. The staff their was amazing and took care of every need. Thanks Erin!!!

I have really enjoyed working with Jarred and Hillary, their laid back friendly personalities and willingness for any picture idea were just the winning combination for powerful wedding day photography.
