We are in Vegas at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) Convention. Kathy, Kim our Director of Marketing and her husband Lucas and I have had a great week of learning and camaraderie with photographers from all over the world. We are off to Death Valley, CA tomorrow to get ready to shoot Linnea and Jessie’s Engagement sessions over the weekend. Check back soon for an unusual view of this session.
Kathy and I just returned from the Senior Portrait Artist (SPA) convention in Tucson, AZ.
This is a convention for photographic artist specializing in high school seniors.
It was really great to be in the sunny-warm desert. This convention is different than most in that they supply models that are high school seniors from all over the country. We got to run wild having group photo shoots trying all the latest techniques in fashion and portrait photography.
We came home to new snow and temps in the teens, come on spring…

The annual Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference in Las Vegas is quickly approaching. There will be thousands of photographers from around the world learning and sharing.
We are so excited to be Speaking for Livebooks as this is a huge opportunity to share and payback all those that have helped us along the way with our photography.

For the fourth year Peter and Kathy attended Imaging USA, which was in Austin Texas this year.
This is the National convention and trade show for the Professional Photographers of America. It’s a solid week of learning and sharing ideas with other photographers from all over the world. We also spent time in the huge trade show looking for the finest albums and products to bring back and offer our clients. It is amazing to have all that under one roof. 2006 was the largest Imaging USA to date with nearly 7000 photographers attending.
It was also good to be back in Austin. We used to rock climb around Austin in the college days at the University of Oklahoma. “I always felt like I was on enemy territory with the OU vs. Texas rivalry,” jokes Peter “But Austin is a really nice city and it was fun to be back”.
We are fired up for wedding season to get underway, and put some of these great ideas to work for our clients.
